Have you checked the battery and are the contacts clean? The correct battery is a 1.5 volt silver oxide or alkaline, S76 or equivalent.If this is not the problem I suggest you get the camera checked over by a camera technician.

My Father's 500 DTL was working just fine up until recently when the light meter suddenly stopped working for no apparent reason. Everything else still works fine. Does anyone know why it may be doing this, or how is can be fixed? I would like to do this for his father's day present. Thank you for any help.
