With a correctly calibrated rangefinder, the horizontal and vertical lines should coincide at some point throughout the focusing movement. The vertical line is the critical one - if the horizontal line does not coincide it is an inconveience, but not critical. Is it a problem that when I try to focus my 65mm lens on a distant object, the ghost image never actually meets up? I have not shot enough film to decide if it actually causes a problem.
