Eric,

I suggest you discuss the problem with a Mamiya service technician. Phone 01782 753345 and speak to Mr. Valentine.

I bought a Mamiya 7ii nearly two years ago and took it on holiday where it promptly broke after I unloaded the first film I had put through it (there was a problem with the winder and shutter release). I was in the Grand Canyon and I wasn't impressed. On my return to the UK, I took it straight back to the shop and had it swapped for another one, but I have to say I didn't trust taking it on holiday again and have only put a couple of films through it since. The other day I decided I really must use the camera or sell it so I loaded up with film and off I went. After unloading the second film, I experienced the same problem and now have a broken camera (no longer under warranty) that won't let me fire the shutter or advance the film count (though the film does wind). I like this camera, but I cannot believe I have had two cameras go wrong the same way, one after 1 film and the other after only 5 films. Is there some sort of generic problem with the build quality? Has anyone else experienced anything like this? Am I going to have to spend a fortune getting it fixed? I was going to buy some more lenses and make this my primary camera but now I am not so sure.
