Yes, focusing should be done with the ring pulled towards the camera, as this stops the diaphragm down to approximately f8. E-mail me at [email protected] and I will scan/e-mail you a PDF of the instruction leaflet, which is only 2 pages

I have received a 145mm SF lens with proper packing but without usage instructions. Is there any information available on the proper usage of such lens?
Although the controlls are obvious it is not very clear how to focus and alternate the degree of SF in a proper manner. The focusing ring connection with the diafragm is a bit puzzling. Should focus always be done with the ring pulled to close the diafragm?
