Mamiyalflex lens help

Mamiya UK Forum: General: Mamiyalflex lens help

It sounds like an original Mamiyaflex with a later lens. Since you are cocking the shutters by hand on this camera most of the compatibility issues don't arise. You will only have focus scales for a few lenses, but they are of borderline usefulness.

Heather,

The C3 has a winding lever, not a knob.

I have a very old mamiyaflex. I'm not completely sure which one I have. Based on Graham Patterson's site, it sounds like I have a Mamiyaflex C, but the lens has 1/500 exposure, which wasn't on the mamiyaflex. The camera works fine, great actually, but i only have one lens, the 80 and I, of course, want more. So I have two questions:
?f the camera has a knob for advancing hingers to release the lens on the left, and just says mamiyaflex on the top, is it a mamiyaflex c? it only has one focus knob, but it has a side grip with a flash mount on it which would preclude the possibility or usefulness of the other knob. Or does the presence of the 1/500 indicate that it must be c3 or later?

And more importantly, can I use c2 or c3 lenses on it? It sounds like I already am? And if so, can you tell me what other model lenses I might use for it? Any help will be greatly appreciated. I've had it for awhile but just recently tried to use it. And am very happy with the outcome.

Thx,
Heather
