Mamiya ZE/ZE2 disassembly

Mamiya UK Forum: General: Mamiya ZE/ZE2 disassembly

Hi Alan,
Mamiya stopped producing 35mm cameras in 1982, not early seventies, but that`s not important, contrary to the thing that I didn`t mean to offend anyone with my previous message. Didn`t you see the smiley? Anyway, the cause of the problem was trivial, however extremely easy to overlook. Still can`t believe I`ve found it.
Regards,
Tomasz.

Tomasz,

As Mamiya discontinued production of 35mm. cameras in the early seventies (several years before we became the UK agents), we have very little information and no servicing knowledge at all for them.
The site is primarily for medium format enquiries, but we have no objections to people posting 35mm. enquiries. Just bear in mind that there are relatively few 35mm. users, let alone service technicians, using this forum, so questions may not be answered, due to lack of knowledge. Also, it is difficult to to explain how to repair a camera via a forum and the problem could be worsened. However,I am pleased to hear you have now solved your problem.
For an interesting 35mm. site see my posting to "Anon".

Hi! Could anyone help me find instructions on disassembling the ZE-2 body, or give me some hints? Or maybe someone could tell me what is the cause of such behaviour: the shutter fires only at sync speed when set to it or faster, when slower - it behaves like "B". Lightmeter doesn`t work, automatics too - fires at sync. What could cause this? AFAIK it is quite common damage. Thanks in advance. T. Holdowanski.
